We are now looking to appoint a Management Accountant to strengthen our Finance function and support the business with high-quality reporting, insight and control. This is a key role within the team, offering variety, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact.


The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant will take ownership of the month-end process and provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to support decision-making across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with colleagues across departments, you will bring structure, attention to detail and accountability — alongside a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Leading the month-end process, including stock, cash, sales, purchases and nominal ledger
  • Preparing monthly management accounts (Trial Balance, P&L and Balance Sheet)
  • Completing stock valuations for raw materials and maintaining standard cost records within Sage
  • Managing fixed asset registers and calculating monthly depreciation
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and preparing month-end and year-end journals
  • Producing monthly budget reports and working with budget holders to understand and explain variances
  • Preparing clear variance analysis with commentary to support informed decision-making
  • Providing accurate management reporting to support profitability, growth and performance
  • Completing Office for National Statistics submissions
  • Supporting departments with financial information and insight as required
  • Raising rental invoices on behalf of the SIPP and managing related queries
  • Facilitating and liaising with SIPP-related parties
  • Leading the year-end external audit
  • Undertaking ad-hoc reporting and improvement work to enhance efficiency and reduce costs


About You 

You will be a detail driven and commercially aware finance professional who takes pride in accuracy, organisation and reliability. You work well independently, manage your workload confidently, and enjoy collaborating with others to support the wider business.

  • A minimum of AAT Level 4 (or part-qualification with a recognised professional accounting body), with at least 3 years’ relevant workplace experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 200
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
  • A clear understanding of confidentiality, compliance and professional standards
  • Experience within a manufacturing or food environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
