It is a family-owned business, employing nearly 200 people and operates only within B2B markets where it has gained a reputation for quality, consistency and service. It is one of the biggest cheese suppliers of foodservice and food manufacturing within the UK and export their product to over 55 countries worldwide. With both domestic and international business, the company continues to grow and is looking to expand their team.

Role Specific:

As the Export Business Development Manager at Prima Cheese, your role is to develop new business within the global export market with our new and existing customers. With a state-of-the-art factory, we are dedicated to quality and innovation and are recognised as cheese experts on a global scale.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Export Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding our global reach and market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success selling into the food industry, with a keen ability to build and nurture their own pipeline. Creativity in generating leads and a strong understanding of the food market is essential for this role.

What will I be doing?

As the Export Business Development Manager, you are to establish, develop and maintain comprehensive business relationships to increase market share within the global foodservice sector with key stakeholders in the industry. You will also be required to work with the commercial, marketing and comms teams to conduct market research and identify new business opportunities to penetrate new markets worldwide.

You will collaborate closely with the Export, Commercial and Marketing Teams to create effective promotional strategies tailored to the export foodservice markets as well as engaging with customers to understand their needs and provide customised solutions that align with Prima Cheese’s product offerings.

Responsibilities:

· Reporting to the Export Manager, focus on developing and maintaining effective relationships with overseas contacts in existing and developing markets.

· Monitor performance, ensuring that targets/KPI’s are achieved, evaluating the effectiveness of activities.

· Take a lead in respect of key regional market activity, maintaining an understanding of target markets and wider emerging opportunities.

· Take part in international activity including trade shows, exhibitions and client meetings etc.

· Drive sales by leveraging your expertise and relationships to meet and exceed sales targets.

· Provide regular reports on sales progress, market trends and business development activities to Export Manager and Senior Management.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who has a keen interest in sales, global trade and culture.

Specific experience in the foods industry is an advantage but not essential. Demonstrating the ability to create long-term business relationships that align with Prima Cheese’s growth objectives are crucial, being personable and charming an advantage.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of successful sales experience

· International export experience an advantage

· Ability to travel extensively overseas with periods away from home to attend meetings and events.

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to adjust strategies as needed.

· Strong understanding of the global trade and industry

· A keen interest in global factors that influence trade (political, economic, social and environmental)

· Strong capability to analyse data and market trends to inform business decisions.

· Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth.

· Written and verbal communication skills with a flair for networking.

· Proficiency in Microsoft office and experience with CRM software.

· Fluency in one or more languages is advantageous.

· Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
