Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our Engineering Department. Working alongside a small team and reporting into the Engineering supervisor, you will be responsible for the following in your day to day role:

  • Pre-planned maintenance on our four production lines
  • Reacting to and resolving breakdowns and issues in the production area
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks identified during the fabrication audits
  • Liaising with other departments to resolve any maintenance issues

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of a HNC in a relevant discipline
  • Preferably have a minimum of 2 years experience within the food industry
  • Preferably multi skilled with an electrical bias but also capable of mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Good knowledge of control systems and inverters
  • Experience of installation of equipment

Additional Information:

  • You will be on a rotating shift pattern working a mix of day, back and night shift

I.T Technician

I.T Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join our IT team, working alongside an established team and reporting into the IT Manager you will be responsible for the following in your day to day role:

Key Duties

  • Create bespoke IT solutions to staff issues and queries using Excel, Access and other software’s available.
  • Handling day to day queries from staff.
  • Installing and configuring hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitoring and maintaining and installing computer systems and networks.
  • Liaising with clients to create food labels to meet clients need, working in other languages whilst also meeting regulations for UK and other countries.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Assist with basic graphic design demands
  • Work with production team to solve any IT issues that may arise.
  • Working in Food safe high care environment

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 Years working in an office environment (preferably IT)
  • Excellent knowledge of the following is essential: –
    • Microsoft Excel
    • VBA
    • Microsoft Access
  • Experience with Access forms / reports / queries is essential
  • Experience with Sage is an advantage
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Photoshop, CorelDraw is an advantage

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above (including Maths and English)

Production Manager

Due to recent expansion, we are recruiting for an experienced production manager to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning and organising production schedules (daily plans)
  • Assessing projects and sustaining 5s activities
  • Maintaining quality control standards at all times
  • Overseeing production processes
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Measuring purchasing materials and reducing waste
  • Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Supervising the work of all your staff

  • Driving C.I throughout all areas of the business

  • Work closely with the team leaders to ensure that each of them is clear with the goals being set, ensuring all information is fed back to the Operations Manager.
  • Attend daily 10am meetings with all relevant information and results from previous day’s production also highlighting any key issues which may hinder the days plan.
  • Maintain a high level of quality throughout the process keeping in line with all hygiene standards as well as meeting all HSE regulations.
  • Liaise with the maintenance team to keep a minimum down time on machinery and inform them of all urgent engineering matters.
  • Take an active role in the recruitment and hiring process in the factory. Manage your new staff, guide and support them (make them feel welcome).

Cleaner

Cleaner

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Directors you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained in the office and staff areas, tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Emptying bins
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Hoovering
  • Cleaning toilets, urinals and hand basins
  • Replenishing consumable items in the staff areas and toilets e.g toilet rolls, soap, tea and coffee
  • Dusting and cleaning of areas such as desks and glass doors and other areas that require cleaning within reach
  • Working alongside the receptionist to ensure correct levels of cleaning materials are ordered
  • Ensuring the canteen areas are kept clean, tidy and organised
  • Watering the office plants
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required by the Operations Manager/Company Directors
  • Ensuring the board room is kept clean and organised

Technical Manager

Technical Manager

Prima Cheese Ltd is a AA BRC rated food processing company based in County Durham. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join the team. Reporting into the Company Directors you will be responsible for monitoring and documenting Prima Cheese Ltd’s Food and Safety Programmes, ensuring adherence to all quality, food safety and sanitation guidelines related to the processing of the company’s products. Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading internal and external audits
  • Investigating and responding to customer complaints
  • Taking the lead on investigations into key deviations from process and customer specification, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to bring the process back under control.
  • General Maintenance of Food Safety Management Systems
  • Leading the HACCP and TACCP teams
  • Managing the QA team, focusing on supporting and leading them to deliver successful results for the business.
  • Monitoring departmental KPI’s and challenging improvement, when required, to ensure targets are achieved and improved.
  • Carrying out senior management meetings
  • Working with other departments to drive and implement change

The successful candidate will have the following experience/attributes:

  • Experience within a similar position in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience of leading a team is essential, you will be responsible for a team of four QA Co-ordinators and four QA technicians
  • A minimum of a 2:1 in a food science degree
  • HACCP Level 4 certification
  • Internal Auditor certification
  • Excellent knowledge of BRC
  • Experience of leading audits
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
  • Experience of applying food legislation to manufacturing practice, you’ll have experience of managing supplier auditors and the ability to evaluate and interpret shelf life data
